Metal Organic Framework
Many transit authorities are moving towards natural gas-powered buses as an alternative to diesel engines. BASF Energy Storage business is currently evaluating Metal Organic Frameworks as part of natural gas (NG) fuel systems on board vehicles. This novel NG fuel system could potentially have higher storage capacity than compressed natural gas (CNG) at CNG pressure (3600 psi) or equivalent CNG storage capacity at pressures lower than CNG. Such an innovation would enable transit fleet operators not only to realize natural gas based fuel savings in comparison to diesel.
We have also forged new paths in the area of battery materials, a focus for manufacturers and operators. Our advanced cathode materials offer higher energy density, better safety and improved efficiency, which translates into increased battery range and a longer battery lifetime.
